Kontabilidade iha Timor-Leste

Clean books are the foundation of everything else — tax filings that don't get queried, audits that close on time, and management decisions made on real numbers instead of guesswork.

Primos Bo'ot runs the monthly accounting function for private companies, NGOs and donor-funded projects across Timor-Leste. Some clients hand us the whole finance function; others keep a bookkeeper in-house and use us for review, financial statements and reporting. Both models work.

Who this service is for

Three kinds of organisations use our accounting service. Small and mid-sized businesses that have outgrown a spreadsheet but are not ready to hire a full finance team. NGOs and donor-funded projects that need books maintained to the standard their donors and auditors expect. And foreign-owned companies whose head office wants monthly reporting it can rely on, prepared by a firm it can call.

If your books are behind — a common situation, and nothing to be embarrassed about — we also do catch-up engagements: reconstructing months or years of records from bank statements, invoices and receipts, so you have a clean starting point.

What's included

  • Monthly transaction recording and bank reconciliation
  • Accounts payable and receivable tracking
  • Monthly management accounts (profit & loss, balance sheet, cash position)
  • Annual financial statements
  • Year-end audit support — schedules, reconciliations and responses to auditor queries
  • Catch-up bookkeeping for businesses with a backlog

How an engagement starts

First, a free consultation — usually 30 minutes — where we look at what you have: your entity type, transaction volume, current records and what you need out of the numbers. From there we quote a fixed monthly fee. Onboarding typically takes one to two weeks: access to bank statements and source documents, a chart of accounts that fits your business, and an agreed monthly close calendar.

After that, the rhythm is monthly: you send (or give us access to) source documents, we close the month, you receive management accounts, and your tax filings are prepared from books that are already reconciled — not assembled in a rush on the 14th.

Pergunta baibain

How much does bookkeeping cost in Timor-Leste?

Fees depend on transaction volume and complexity, and we quote a fixed monthly fee after a free consultation — no hourly surprises. A small business with straightforward operations pays much less than a multi-donor NGO with segregated project reporting.

Our books are two years behind. Can you fix that?

Yes. Catch-up engagements are common: we reconstruct the records from bank statements, invoices and receipts, bring the books current, and then move you onto a normal monthly cycle.

Do you work with our existing accounting software?

Yes. We work with the common cloud accounting platforms as certified advisors, and we can also recommend and set one up if you are starting from spreadsheets.
